NEW DELHI: A court today rejected the plea urging to drop Ashish Mishra from the case in which he has been named as an accused of allegedly running an SUV over farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri. The court added that charges will be framed on him tomorrow.
On October 3rd, last year Ashish Mishra allegedly rammed into four farmers and a journalist at Lakhimpur Kheri while they protested against the three contentious farm laws.
Videos showing the car ramming farmers were widely circulated, triggering anger and fierce criticism of state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his government. A committee was appointed by the SC to monitor the probe into the violence.
