New Delhi: India recorded 19,406 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.50 per cent accounted for 19,928 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,34,65,552.
The daily positivity rate stood at 4.96 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,34,793 accounting for 0.31 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a drop of 571 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 49 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,649.
Of the 49 new fatalities, five each were reported from Maharashtra and West Bengal, three from Chhattisgarh, two each from Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Tripura, and one each from Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, 11 deaths have been reconciled by Kerala as per Indian Council of Medical Research guidelines.
With the administration of 32,73,551 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 205.92 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
