Gurugram biker hit-and-run accused Kalyan Bhainsla was detained from Dausa in Rajasthan on Tuesday, police said.
The Gurugram police, based on the CCTV findings, have filed an attempt to murder charge against the accused driver.
The incident took place on Sunday when a white sedan swerved sharply to the right on Golf Course Road in Gurugram and rammed the helmeted Sia, who went crashing down, showing a disturbing video with her Aprilia RS 457 sports bike sliding across the road, generating tiny shards of sparks.
Siya in a media-media interview made it very clear that she will not give up on the fight and will set an example.
“He thinks he will just hit a woman and speed away and nothing would happen to him,” Sia told NDTV before the police detained the accused. “It was a clear hit-and-run and attempt-to-murder case,” she said.
Accused, who appeared before the camera from an unknown location for a media interview, claimed that he did not know whether the biker was a man or a woman and allegedly only one side of the incident has been presented. He also questioned why the videos involving one of Sia’s male friend has not emerged.
Sia’s Lawyer has demanded a swift police action against Kalyan Bhaisla, citing alleged chase and collision and subsequent escape from the spot. He has also raised questions over the tinted car and the conduct of the other occupants while seeking serious charges including attempt to murder in the case.
Day after the video showing the car hitting her motorcycle, biker Sia has hit back at the driver’s claim that the collision was accidental and questioned why did he not stop to check whether she was injured after the crash.
In a video statement posted on September 14th, Sia said the footage showed the car following the group before the collision and rejected the driver’s claim that he had been trying to avoid the bikers. She also questioned his assertion that he did not know whether the rider was a woman.
