New Delhi: As per the latest order issued by the Delhi excise department, all liquor outlets, bars and pubs will remain closed on Monday, November 27 as a tribute to the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Earlier on November 24, the Delhi government announced a dry day in observance of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s martyrdom day.
Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab, is a significant Sikh festival that commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. Celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion, Guru Nanak Jayanti usually falls on the full moon day in the month of Kartik, according to the Nanakshahi calendar, falling this year on Monday, November 27.
