Araria: On Saturday, the Bihar Police announced the arrest of four individuals connected to the murder of Vimal Yadav, a journalist working for Dainik Jagran. On Friday, the assailants entered Yadav’s home in Raniganj, Araria district, and shot him in the chest.
According to statements from the Bihar Police, they have apprehended four out of eight identified suspects; Vipin Yadav, Bhavesh Yadav, Ashish Yadav, and Umesh Yadav. Rupesh Yadav and Kranti Yadav are still in custody at Araria jail as police proceed with procedures. Two suspects are still at large.
In a turn of events, Vimal Yadav had previously witnessed his brother’s murder in 2019. Superintendent Ashok Kumar Singh stated that Vimal was attacked around 5;30 am. Singh speculated that personal grudges might have motivated this crime and highlighted that “Vimal played a role as a witness in his brother’s murder case.” Singh confirmed the journalist’s death due to a gunshot wound. Puja Kumari, Vimal’s grieving widow, shared details about what unfolded after the attack. After the assault, they quickly brought him to a hospital, where doctors declared him deceased. She mentioned Vimal’s threats, saying, “Considering his role, as a witness, in his brother’s murder case, opponents frequently tried to intimidate him in order to influence his testimony.”
