Lucknow: In an incident, a man’s life was tragically cut short due to an act committed by his intoxicated friend in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Not did the accused end the victim’s life. They also added to the horror by setting the body on fire using petrol. To make matters worse the accused fled the scene after stealing from the victim adding another layer of criminality to this act.
The victim, identified as Sunny (32) had gone on a trip to deposit an amount of Rs 1 lakh in a bank. However, as evening approached and he didn’t return home his family became worried. They filed a complaint with authorities when they discovered his abandoned motorcycle near the village. That night came a revelation—the charred remains of a body were found in the jungle along Bijnor Road.
According to police investigation findings, both Durgesh and Sunny spent August 9 engaging in activities throughout the day. They did things like buying a phone and having a meal at a roadside eatery. However, things took a turn when they ventured into the jungle and consumed alcohol. Unfortunately, Durgesh succumbed to temptation and ended up resorting to violence against Sunny, for his money.
Unfortunately Durgesh was driven by the temptation of making money. Ended up taking the life of his friend. He used bricks as a weapon and to conceal the evidence he poured petrol from their shared bike onto Sunny’s body and set it on fire.
