Corona update: With maximum active cases of COVID-19, US, UK & Russia deteriorates;India in top 10 with surge in active cases
WORLD: According to the latest global updates, more than 3.9 million cases of the novel coronavirus, including at least 270,000 deaths have been recorded worldwide. On Friday, 67,652 new positive cases of Coronavirus were reported taking the total count to 3,981,296. With 3,982 new deaths, the death toll has reached 274,408 globally. There are 2,334,597 active cases while 1,372,291 patients have recovered so far.
With 15,689 new cases & 955 deaths reported in the US in the last 24 hours the count of confirmed cases & fatalities has reached 1,308,312 & 77,883 respectively. Meanwhile, Spain (260,117), Italy (217,185) & the UK (211,364) follow it in the list with the maximum number of infections detected.
Russia, with 10,699 new cases, sums up to 187,859 positive cases. It stands at the fifth place after the UK as per the tally of total confirmed cases. France has reported 174,791 cases while Germany-169,430 cases & Brazil-140,023 cases.
Turkey (135,569) & Iran (104,691) too add to the list.
However, the number of active cases in countries across the globe present a slightly different situation of Coronavirus cases in these nations. Following countries have been listed according to the tally of active cases in the country which is comparatively different from the maximum confirmed cases in countries due to the difference in the recovery rates of the nations.

While the US continues to stand at the top position with maximum confirmed cases, deaths & active cases. However, it should be noted that the death rate in the US & many American nations is lower than that in European countries.
The United Kingdom has reported the fourth highest number of COVID-19 patients but tops the number of active cases in Europe. Similarly, Russia, too, has the fifth highest number of confirmed positive patients, but it reports the third highest number of active cases in the world.
Other countries like Spain & Italy, however, reported high numbers of the confirmed cases but have less active patients than the UK, Russia & France.

Meanwhile, India & Peru were not among 10-15 countries with maximum cases but according to the data of their active cases, they made place in top ten.
Similarly, Netherlands, Canada & Belgium too reported high counts of the active patients, signifying a lower recovery rate in these countries.
