Mishra, Environment Secretary, told the media that  India has been able to cut transmission and minimize the spread of the virus. “We have been able to cut transmission, minimize spread, and increase doubling rate. We have utilized this time to prepare ourselves for the future. Growth has been more or less linear, not exponential”. He also added that “now we have to work on our strategy, not daily data. Corona is standing as a big challenge in front of us. So, Our basic mantra will be how to save a life”.

By giving data in the graphical presentation he said that “on March 23, 14915 tests were done and till April 22, more than 4 lakh tests have been already done. But this is not enough. We are constantly emphasizing on increasing testing. Testing is an important weapon against Corona. So far, we are doing better than other countries”.

At last AIIMS Director, Dr Randeep Guleria adds that only less than 5% ventilators would be required for critical care. Further, he said it (stigma) is actually causing an increase in morbidity and mortality. Because of the stigma that is happening  many patients who have #COVID19 or flu-like symptoms are not coming to health care facilities.”
