Corona Outbreak: Railways and civil aviation ministry extends suspension of passenger services till 3 May

Delhi, India: All passenger flights and Indian railway will remain suspended till May 3, the civil aviation ministry and railway ministery said after Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the nationwide lockdown to fight the spread of coronavirus.

Minister Hardeep Puri said after May 3, the government could consider ending the restrictions on domestic and international flights. 

All domestic and international scheduled Airlines operations shall remain suspended till 11.59 pm of May 3, the ministry tweeted.

On other hand Indian Railways on Tuesday extended the suspension of all its passenger services till 3 May, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to extend the nationwide lockdown amid COVID-19 threat.

All passenger train services on Indian Railways including Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains, Suburban Trains, Kolkata Metro Rail, Konkan Railway etc shall continue to remain cancel till the 2400hrs of 3rd May 2020. Railway ministry tweeted.
