The spread of novel coronavirus in India has substantially escalated in the past few days with an average of 3600 new cases of covid_19 per day. After the first confirmed case was reported on January 30 in Kerala, the pandemic has expanded its territory across the country with the number of infected people tops 90,000 mark on Sunday.
The total tally of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 90,927 while the death toll has shot up to 2,872, according to Health Ministry today morning. In past 24 hours, 4,987 new cases, the highest one-day jump, and 120 deaths were reported and 3,956 are said to be recovered. The number of active coronavirus cases in the country stood at 53,946 while 34,108 have recovered.
On Saturday night, the total number of cases registered in Gujarat stood at 10,989, behind Maharashtra’ s 30,706 and ahead of Tamil Nadu’s 10,585 — the two other states with over 10,000 cases, making it the second worst hit state after Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Globally, more than 4,650,793 people are reported to have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 312,115 have died, according to John Hopskins University
