Corona Global: More than 5.3 million cases recorded worldwide; Brazil becomes second worst-hit country
The world is concerned about the growing cases of coronavirus with passing days. Several new cases are being reported from various corners of the world. There has been an enormous growth in the number of new deaths. In the last 24 hours, the number of confirmed cases reached over 1,00,000 and death toll rose to 5,426, taking the total tally to 53,06,237 and Total deaths to 340,047.
The number of active coronavirus infected patients globally stood at 2,806,031, according to worldometer, in which 2,761,450 (98%) considered to be in mild condition and 44,581 (2%) are Serious or Critical.
The US reported 24,104 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,299 related deaths on Friday, that brings the national total to 1,645,094 confirmed cases and 97,647 deaths. New York is the worst-affected state, with at least 358,154 cases and 28,853 deaths followed by New Jersey, Illinois, and Massachusetts.
Brazil has succeeded Russia by reporting 3,32,382 total cases. 20,803 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours. The country also reported more than 1,000 new deaths on Friday . The total number of recovery cases in the country is 1,35,430. Currently, Brazil is the second worst-hit country worldwide after the United States.
Russia is third on the list with 3,26,448 total coronavirus cases. The country has recorded 3,249 deaths and 99,825 recovery cases. Spain is next with 2,81,904 cases. The number of death mounted to 28,628 with 1,96,958 recovered cases.
Pakistan has put out 52,437 total cases with more than 1,743 new cases. The total number of death cases reported is 1,101. Additionally, more than 34 new death reports are put forth. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Karachi witnessed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Airbus jet plane with 99 passengers and crew crashed into a residential area killing nearly 97 people.
India witnessed the biggest spike in COVID-19 count as the country recorded over 6,600 cases in last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 125,101 so far. Coronavirus claimed 137 lives on Friday, bringing the total number of deaths in India to 3,720.

Iran stands ahead of India with 1,31,652 total cases of coronavirus. The total number of death cases are 7300 and 1,02,276 cases are claimed to be recovered.
China reported no new symptomatic coronavirus cases on Saturday, for the first time since the beginning of the outbreak in December. China has recorded 82,971 coronavirus cases. The total number of death reports is 4,634 and the recovery cases are 78,258.
There are now more than 100,000 cases of coronavirus across Africa, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday. So far, 3,100 people in Africa have died from the virus.
The sharp spike in the cases has concerned many health authorities. The health officials are taking several steps to ensure the safety of the people but the net outcome is yet to be seen. No permanent vaccine with a positive result has yet been announced.
