Raipur: As many as 30 people including 2 traffic police and 3 health care workers have tested positive of novel coronavirus from Chhattisgarh’s Capital city Raipur. With this, the total cases in the state nears the mark of 2900.
Of these 30 cases, 9 found in police department, 5 are foreign travelers, 2 have travel history from other states, 3 are health workers, 2 patients are pregnant women, One case is of electronic media reporter, 3 people who came positive during contact tracing, apart from these, two are yet to be traced.
According to the sources, Of those 9 from Police departent, two are drivers of an ADG posted at Police Headquarters, 6 employees are from Police Housing Board and an employee of SIB. Many officers of PHQ, SIB and Traffic Police Station staff including DGP DM Awasthi may have to be quarantined. Procedure of sanitization of the entire Police headquarter is underway.
The number of total corona positive patients has now increased to 354 in the capital. Of which, the number of active cases is 148 and 204 people have recovered from the virus so far. In the capital, 3 people have died due to Corona virus, according to the health department.
Earlier, On Tuesday, a retired IFS officer died of coronavirus in AIIMS, Raipur.
