Tamil Nadu: With the vaccination gaining pace in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote a letter on Monday to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his letter, MK Stalin urged the Prime Minister to provide an assured supply of 50 lakh COVID Vaccine doses every week. The state government is planning to increase the vaccination doses, despite the levels they have achieved.
So far, the state has administered 28.91 lakh doses in a day and is ensuring that the vaccination drive in the individual sites will not be affected and persons coming for the second dose are assured of vaccination on the date and in the site, they report if the vaccine doses are increased.
Union Health Minister Ma. Subramanian earlier stated that these mega camps in Tamil Nadu are furnished to use 50 lakh vaccine doses each week; which means 30 lakh doses for 6 days following by 20 lakh doses for a mega camp on the 7th day of the week. He also said that until 12 September 3, 81, 41,820 doses of Covid-19 and 1.93 crore AD syringes (0.5 ml) had been delivered by the government for the state.
