Chennai police have allegedly arrested 12 people including actor Shaam for gambling in his apartment near the upscale Nungambakkam area in Chennai. It is also found that other actors were also gambling there amid the lockdown.
The Chennai Police seized game boards, tokens and lakhs of money at a flat in Nungambakkam, which belongs to actor Shaam.
“Actor Shaam has been arrested along with 11 others. We are investigating the modus operandi over the use of tokens,” a senior police officer told the reporters.
According to unconfirmed reports, the police was tipped off by a popular actor who had allegedly lost a big sum while gambling here.
Shaam made his debut in Kollywood with 12B in 2001. He later shot to fame in Telugu with films like Kick and Race Gurram.
The actor is currently waiting for the release of his long-delayed Tamil film, Party, directed by Venkat Prabhu.
