The BJP has announced a month-long nationwide campaign, ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in public office. The campaign marks 25 years since Modi took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, followed by his tenure as the Prime Minister of the country.

The announcement was made at the BJP headquarters after deliberations with the newly inducted office-bearers, state presidents, organisational general secretaries and other party leaders. “Every year, BJP organises ‘Seva Pakhwada’ in the country on the Prime Minister’s birthday. This year, October 7 marks 25 years since Narendra Modi took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. BJP has decided to launch a one-month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’,” BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde said.

During the nationwide campaign, the BJP will undertake service-oriented activities across the country, including outreach programmes featuring Anganwadi workers. They will be honoured for their significant role in ensuring nutrition for children and helping government welfare programmes reach families at the grassroots level.

The saffron party will also seek to turn the occasion into a mass mobilisation campaign through a programme called ‘Seva Mein Mera Yogdan’. Under the initiative, the BJP will appeal to people, particularly the youth, to participate in public service activities such as cleanliness drives, plantation programmes and welfare initiatives.

The party also passed a political resolution strongly condemning the Congress Working Committee’s decision to reaffirm its 1937 position of singing only two verses of ‘Vande Mataram’ at Congress programmes. The resolution stated that ‘Vande Mataram’ is India’s national song and symbolises the country’s freedom struggle and national consciousness. The BJP said it would oppose any dilution of its stature and launch a nationwide awareness campaign highlighting its historical significance and role in India’s freedom struggle.
