Uttar Pradesh: At least six people were killed and eight seriously harmed after two Uttar Pradesh roadways buses, coming from inverse directions, crashed close to Bazpur town situated on Kakori-Hardoi in highway in Lucknow on Wednesday morning. 

The accident apparently occurred when the driver of the transport bus coming from the Lucknow side endeavored to overtake a vehicle yet rather crashed into another roadway’s bus coming from the contrary side. 

The injured have been rushed to Trauma Centre in Lucknow for treatment. The accident occurred at around 6:30am on Wednesday morning and senior police officials raced to the spot. 

Then, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the accident and directed authorities to ensure help and treatment to those injured. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) MD has given mandates for an investigation concerning the accident and a three-member group has been constituted which is entrusted with the responsibility of presenting a report inside 24 hours. 

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Ajay Kumar Lallu also offered his condolences to the families of the deceased. 

He wrote in a tweet in hindi, “Just got the news on bus accident in Kakori territory of Lucknow, I express condolences towards those who have died and I pray to God for recovery of those injured in the accident,”
