Chikkaballapur: At least 12 people have lost their lives in a road accident on National Highway 44 in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur. The accident took place after a car, an SUV, collided with a stationary truck on the Bangalore-Hyderabad NH44. The victims were traveling from Bagepalli to Chikkaballapur.
According to the details, the accident occurred at 7.15 am, on Bangalore-Hyderabad National Highway 44.
Commenting on the accident, the police said a Tata Sumo car rammed a truck on the highway, following which 12 people died on the spot.
One injured person was admitted to the hospital for treatment, he said.
Those involved in the road accident were from the Penkonda district of Andhra Pradesh, the police said.
