In view of the rising uncertainties prevailing in Tehran, the Indian embassy has issued a fresh advisory for Indians traveling to and residing in Tehran. It has urged citizens to postpone all travel to Iran until the security situation improves. For its citizens already in the country, official have urged them to leave the country with available commercial flights, while those who cannot depart the country should stay vigilant, avoid military-sensitive areas, follow local authorities’ instructions and register with the Embassy for further updates.
The advisory was shared by the embassy through its official handle on X. The advisory read- “The recent days have seen an increase in levels of instability and conflict in Iran. In this light, the Embassy wishes to issue the following revised advisory: a) Indian nationals intending to travel to Iran for any purpose should postpone travel for the time being, until the security environment improves. b) Indians already in Iran should consider temporarily exiting Iran, using available flight options.”
“Indian nationals who choose to remain in Iran should exercise the highest possible level of caution. They should carefully monitor the news to maintain full situational awareness, and should avoid locations seeing higher levels of military activity such as those along the southern coast of the country. Instructions issued by local authorities should be complied with carefully,” the advisory added.
Additionally, it urged all Indian nationals to register their details with the embassy. Those who have not registered were directed to immediately approach the embassy. The post shared emergency contact details as well.
