NEW DELHI: India added 214 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. This took the cumulative count of infections to 4.46 crore (4,46,79,761); the Union Health Ministry stated.

The recovery rate stood at 98.80 per cent. The total recoveries surged to 4,41,46,534. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.11 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.12 per cent, the ministry said.

The number of active cases increased marginally to 2,509 accounting for 0.01 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported an increase of six cases in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.19 per cent reported 4 deaths–two reconciled by Kerala, and one each reported from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh — in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative death toll to 5,30,718.

According to the ministry’s website, 220.13 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

In the last 24 hours, 27,60,345 beneficiaries were administered the COVID-19 vaccine. So far, 33.57 Cr. Vaccine doses have been administered under Nationwide Vaccination Drive
