New Delhi: India added 6,093 fresh infections in the past 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally to 4,44,84,729. The recovery rate at 98.70 per cent accounted for 6,768 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,06,972. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.93 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 49,636 accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 706 cases in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 31 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,121.

With the administration of 28,09,189 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 214.55 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Out of these, 94.46 cr have been administered with the second dose while 17.73 crore beneficiaries have been jabbed with the precautionary dose.

As per latest data, more than 202.42 crore (2,02,42,52,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Above 4.90 Cr (4,90,23,790) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.

In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 3,16,504 infected samples. So far, 88.87 crore tests have been conducted.
