Poonch: Since Monday, 9 soldiers, including 2 Junior Commissioned Officers or JCOs, have been murdered in the line of duty while fighting these terrorists in what has been India’s military’s worst encounter in recent years in Jammu and Kashmir. There’s also no way of knowing if any of the terrorists have been killed because no remains have been discovered yet. Despite a large combing effort, a tight cordon, and severe shelling, fighting in the 8-9 kilometre section of deep forest has continued for the 9th day today.
According to the army and local police sources, these groups of terrorists were trained by Pakistani military special commandos because they were able to inflict such massive losses while eluding thousands of security officers for 9 days. Pakistani commandos may potentially be among the terrorists. But we won’t know for sure until they’re shot down,” said an officer who did not want to be identified.
On the night of October 10th, 5 soldiers, including a JCO, were murdered in the Dera Wali Gali area of Poonch, which is close to the Line of Control, in the first encounter with these terrorists. Army units seeking terrorists were ambushed in the Nar Khas jungles on Thursday as a result of this. 2 troops were killed, and 2 more went missing, one of them was a JCO. Their bodies were found 2 days later following a difficult operation.
