Agartala: Seven teenaged young men purportedly assaulted an eight-year-old girl child in the wake of inviting her to play find the stowaway with them in a town in Tripura, police said on Sunday.
Six of the accused who live at Tabaria in West Tripura area were captured and one is slipping off.
Four of them were sent to an adolescent home. Two others, who are around 12 years of age, were hospitalized as they tried positive for coronavirus, police said.
“As indicated by the grievance held up by the casualty’s dad, the charged young men called her to play find the stowaway with them and afterward assaulted her. The occurrence occurred on Friday,” sub-divisional cop of New Capital Complex, Priya Madhuri Majumder, said.
The girl child, a student of class 3, get back and educated her folks regarding what had occurred, the police official said.
The charged young men, who were known to the young lady, were captured after the protest was held up on Saturday.
The police official said, “A sum of seven people were named in the FIR. We have captured six of them while one is stealing away,”.
