Uttar Pradesh: The whole world is under lockdown, but the scenario in uttarpradesh is slightly different. Recently in Pagona village of Anupshahar Kotwali area, two sadhus were stabbed to death inside a temple premises on Monday night. The murder came to light when people reached the temple on Tuesday morning and saw the blood-soaked bodies. According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Jagandas,55, and Sevadas,35.

According to police officers killing was done with a sword and multiple times stabbings are visible on the bodies. Both the sages were between 45 to 50 years and had been living in the temple for the last 15 years.

Next day morning, Several villagers soon gathered after the bodies of two priests were found inside the temple on Tuesday. They later also managed to catch the accused after which he was taken into custody. After the witnessing the murder of the sadhus in the temple premises, there was anger among the people of the village. The police persuaded the villagers and sent the dead body for post-mortem.

According to police, the man killed the two sadhus over an altercation he had with the sadhus a few days back after he took away their ‘chimta’ (tong).

“Preliminary investigation has found that a few days ago, the accused snatched tongs from sadhus, after which they scolded him. Angered by this, the accused killed them both,” Bulandshahr SSP Santosh Kumar Singh said.
The murder of sadhus in Uttar Pradesh is the second case of sadhu killing in this month.

This is a grim reminder of the Palghar mob lynching incident that happened in Maharashtra. Three persons, including two sadhus, were lynched in Palghar, Maharashtra while they were on their way to a funeral in neighbouring Silvassa.
