The pre-booking of “Stree 2”, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, was opened over the weekend, and it has been quite well received. Amar Kaushik is directing the movie, which is the sequel to The Stree (2018) and is planned to be released on 15th August, on Independence Day.

Well, going by the records of the film trade analyst, “Stree 2” has a great opening on the cards. He said that tickets had been pre-sold in advance in the national chains, including the previews at 45,000 and expect a strong opening weekend. He claimed that the film would gross ₹30–35 crore nett on the first day of release alone. He also tweeted, “Stree 2 from Jio Studios has 45000 tickets sold in advance at national chains for only day one including preview. Targeting finish of Rs 2.5-3.5 lakhs tickets. Ready for a mammoth Rs 30-35 crore nett on August 15”

Besides the booking of advance tickets, recent reports reveal that “Stree 2” has recorded the sale of 1,24,402 tickets across theatres in India for the first show. To date, the film has earned ₹4.09 crore nett in advance booking for August 15, which again proves that the movie has a great pre-release appeal.

When “Stree 2” releases on Independence Day, it will also come up against other Bollywood bigwig films like “Khel Khel Mein” starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham’s “Vedaa. ” There will also be Puri Jagannadh’s Telugu film “Double iSmart” featuring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt and Tamil actor Vikram’s “Thangalaan,” directed by The competition brings the focus to the risk that “Stree 2” has on its hands in trying to gain viewership in the middle of a packed release calendar.
