Kartavya, a thriller by Saif Ali Khan, is also about to be launched on Netflix on May 15, the release date of which is officially announced by Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Pulkit and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film has already created a buzz with its hot first look.
Posting the news on social media, Shah Rukh Khan hinted at the thrilling storyline of the film, suggesting a film with difficult decisions and ethical issues. Previously, Netflix released the first poster, featuring Saif Ali Khan in a rough police character. The actor, with bruises on his face and in uniform, looks battle-worn, standing alone in a field – establishing the mood of the dark and emotionally charged storyline.
The movie is based on a police officer who was trapped in a tangle of responsibility, law and a conflict of self. When things go out of control, the lead character is forced to make his way in an ethically ambiguous world where all choices have a cost. The story presents the theme of power, guilt, sacrifice, emotional cost of responsibility.
Other than Saif Ali Khan, the movie has a good ensemble cast such as Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhari, and Saurabh Dwivedi playing major roles.
Kartavya has an interesting premise and a strong cast, and it will make it a compelling and emotionally rich film when it starts streaming May 15.
