Security outside Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai has been increased following the attack on Tiger Shroff on Sunday evening. Tiger was attacked while leaving a football stadium in Juhu, Mumbai. A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, citing the actor’s closeness to Salman Khan.
Security has been intensified around Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, with vehicles passing through the area being scrutinised as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, three shooters have been arrested at Kota railway station in Rajasthan. Two of them are from Haryana, while the third is from Bihar. The arrests were made in a joint operation by the Mumbai Police and the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force.
Tiger escaped unharmed, but his driver and another person were injured after five of the seven rounds fired at the actor’s car struck them. The shooting caused panic in the area. Following the attack, the injured driver got out of the car, while the two shooters fled on a motorcycle with a third accomplice, who had reportedly kept the vehicle ready for their escape.
Tiger later took the driver’s seat and rushed his injured driver to Nanavati hospital.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also enquired about the injured and assured swift action against those involved in the incident. Visuals of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde meeting Tiger at his residence surfaced, where the actor was seen with bandages on his arms and a dressing on his chest.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has repeatedly targeted Salman Khan and people close to him over the blackbuck poaching case. These include firing outside Salman’s residence in 2024, the killing of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique in the same year, and a threatening letter sent to Salman’s father, Salim Khan, in 2022.
The case dates back to 1998, when Salman was accused of killing a blackbuck during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The blackbuck is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.
