Thalapathy Vijay finally brought his last movie Jana Nayagan to theatres on Thursday, after several months of suspense and excitement, and the party started in big time throughout Tamil Nadu. The release of the film was transformed into a festival as its first day first show was marked by fans sitting out in the cinema halls singing and waving banners while releasing crackers. The release date was years in the making, and several delays were caused by movie certification problems, in addition to it being leaked online ahead of its release.

Reaction on the outside of theatres was overwhelmingly festive, with mixed feelings being expressed on X (formerly Twitter).Vijay’s strong screen presence was applauded by many viewers as it was a ‘goosebumps moment’ in the title introduction.

Positive feedback was given to the sequence in which the actions of the movie took place, particularly in the interval block and jail scene. The fans also loved the energetic background score, Bobby Deol’s menacing look, and mention about the legendary actor M.G. Ramachandran (MGR).

Several fans were impressed with Vijay’s mass entry, one of whom labeled it the “biggest highlight of the film.”

Not everything went well, however, there were negative reactions as well. While being handled by Vijay and Anirudh, certain aspects of the movie got mixed reactions from some who criticised the handling of the movie. The visual effects (VFX) were found lacking and underdeveloped, as were Bobby Deol’s villain arc, and the emotional father-daughter story line in the film.In spite of the mixed reviews, Jana Nayagan has already attracted high footfall and fans are now jubbing at the prospect of what is scheduled to be Vijay’s final ‘film acting out’ session in cinema before devoting all his time to the politics.
