The gripping storyline, powerful performances, and high-octane dialogues are making Sunny Deol’s latest action-packed film Jaat, which hit the theatres on April 10, luring audiences in large numbers. The film is making its way smashing at the ticket window, and with just 6 days after its release, it is now doing the business of more than ₹50 crs since the film is releasing in these times and in such a competitive market.

Records show that Jaat has collected ₹6 crore on the day 6 of its release, and thus gained ₹53.5 crore as its domestic earnings. Day 1 opening was such that the movie registered ₹9.5 crore, and went down to ₹7 crore on Day 2. But the momentum was quickly regained over the weekend as the film grossed ₹10 crore on Saturday and ₹14 crore on Sunday. Its four-day total was ₹40.25 crore. The next day, the film crossed the ₹50 crore mark comfortably by adding ₹7.5 crore on Day 5, as it just failed to make it to the ₹50 crore mark.

Sunny Deol plays Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh, whose life is the subject of a narrative arc throughout Jaat. The story is about his heroic fight against the ruthless Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda) led Sri Lankan terrorists in an Andhra Pradesh coastal village. Beyond high octane action sequences, the film does include some hard-hitting subjects, including corruption, patriotism and the plight of rural communities.

The efforts of patriotic themes, emotional depth and classic Sunny Deol intensity have been resonating across the country. If this momentum continues, then Jaat is likely to continue its good hold at the box office and the coming days.
