Teja Sajja’s superhero flick, “HanuMan,” hit theaters last Friday, showcasing a robust performance at the box office. According to industry analysts, the film has amassed an impressive estimated ₹80.46 crore nett in India to date, demonstrating resilience despite facing competition from Mahesh Babu’s “Guntur Kaaram.”
On Wednesday, “HanuMan” achieved a noteworthy business of around ₹11.5 crore nett across all languages in India, maintaining its momentum after an initial clash. The movie, released in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada, secured ₹4.15 crore from paid previews on Thursday, followed by an additional ₹8.05 crore net across all languages on Friday.
The superhero saga experienced a surge in box office numbers over the weekend, earning ₹12.45 crore nett across all languages on Saturday and an impressive ₹16 crore on Sunday. While the film experienced a slight slowdown in its second week, it still garnered ₹15.2 crore nett in India on Monday and ₹13.11 crore nett on Tuesday.
In this sci-fi narrative, Teja Sajja portrays a young man bestowed with superpowers by Lord Hanuman, embarking on a mission to defend his people. The cast includes Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Amritha Aiyer, and Vinay Rai.
Teja Sajja expressed his excitement about the superhero venture, emphasizing its blend of entertaining elements. In an interview with a news agency, he shared, “This film has superhero action sequences for the entertainment of children and a lot of comedy. At the same time, its our history, is also connected with the superhero element. We’ve tried to blend in our Indian ‘itihaasaas’ with the superhero concept, so it’s a very entertaining film.”
“HanuMan” continues to captivate audiences with its unique combination of superhero spectacle, historical ties, and engaging storytelling, making it a standout performer at the Indian box office.
