Both Daayra and Vibe enjoyed modest performance in the Indian box office on the first Saturday whereas Kunal Khemu’s action-comedy thriller continued to hold its edge ahead of Meghna Gulzar’s crime thriller even after 48 hours.

Sacnilk estimated the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starring-Kareena Kapoor Khan movie Daayra to gross at Rs 1.60 crore net in India on Saturday. The movie opened at Rs 1 crore on Friday after two days post-tipping at the Indian market it grossed around Rs 2.60 crore.

It maintained a total of 20.62 shows in India on Day 2 and a total occupancy of 20.46% in the Country. Occupancy for its morning shows was 8.15 per cent, and its afternoon shows 19.77 per cent. In the latter performances, attendance increased and the occupation rate for night shows was 26.69% and the evening shows 27.23%.

Bengaluru was the top city with respect to Daayas occupancy with 45.3%. Chennai and Bhopal with 28.5% and 26%, respectively, followed, and likewise Pune with 24%. The National Capital region had 23% occupancy while Mumbai had 20%.

In the meantime, though, Vibe was faring better at the box office. On day 2, the movie grossed Rs 4.35 crore and for day 2, it is grossing Rs 2.65 crore net on the first Saturday. It had collected Rs 1.70 crore on its opening day.

The films will both be collections to watch on Saturday and Sunday as both grow, if Daayra is to come anywhere close to closing the deficit with Vibe in their first weekend.
