Mumbai: As the summer film industry begins to heat up, the countdown to an epic face-off is in full swing. After the declaration by Bollywood filmmaker David Dhawan that his romantic comedy, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, featuring actors Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, will see the light of day on June 5, 2026.
This development heralds the beginning of a fierce inter-industry battle as it comes in the wake of the global launch of Peddi, a pan-Indian sports drama film starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, on June 4. A film by producer Ramesh Taurani, the romantic drama had initially set out to make its debut before experiencing numerous delays in its schedule. It was initially decided to delay the production due to the threat posed by Yash’s Toxic, but owing to a change in Toxic’s schedule, it returned to its original plan only to realize Peddi’s booking of the day before.
