Bollywood music rarely gets a shot at the Grammys, so this one turned heads. Arijit Singh’s soulful “Phir Se,” from Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is now in the running for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
The makers announced the Grammy campaign on X on October 9. Shashwat Sachdev’s soundtrack given words by the lyricist Irshad Kamil and Kumaar (along with contributions from Bombay Rockers for specific tracks) has been submitted across nine category placements at the 2027 Grammys. It’s a wide net. “Aari Aari” is up for Best Asian Pop Music Performance, “Jaan Se Guzarte Hai” and “Kanhaiyya” for Best Global Music Performance, and “Destiny – Mann Atkeya” for Best Rap Performance.
The singer shared a gratitude post on his Instagram feed, announcing the news.
“PhirSe from DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE for your GRAMMY consideration in the Best Song Written For Visual Media. Thank you for all the love. Link below for more details, tne post read.”
Now for the catch. A submission is not a nomination. The entries don’t confirm the film or its music will be nominated. The real answer comes soon: nominations are due on November 16, with the ceremony set for February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles.
The push follows a strong run for the film. The sequel, released in March 2026, surpassed its predecessor at the box office. Fans can also catch it on TV soon, as it premieres on Star Gold on October 18.
The song, Phir Se, comes at the very end of the film, making a pivotal impact on the narrative as Jaskirat Singh Rangi makes his way towards home after his mission in Pakistan.
Helmed by, Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar became the biggest Indian francise with more than Rs 3,000 crore minting in India. The first part of the film was released in December 2025, the second in March this year.
Whether “Phir Se” makes the final list is anyone’s guess. Still, for fans of Arijit’s voice, even being in the conversation is a nice moment.
