And here she is- the light of Cannes Film Festival – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan finally made her appearance on the 79th Red carpet. While her first look featured a blue off-shoulder sculptured gown, she stepped out in a dreamy pink gown for her second ensemble. And what made the appearance even more special was a debut. The Cannes debutant alongside the Guru star- Aradhya Bachchan.

The mother-daughter duo turned heads as they arrived together for L’Oréal Paris’ annual Lights on Women’s Worth awards during Cannes 2026. Walking hand-in-hand with her mother, Aaradhya confidently embraced the glamour of Cannes in a striking ruby-red gown paired with a dramatic matching cape.

Aradhya has accompanied her mother to the Cannes Film Festival several times, but the 79th year marks the celebrity child’s first on carpet movement with her mother. Social media was soon flooded with pictures and videos of the Bachchan duo posing together at the event, with fans praising their chemistry, grace, and coordinated fashion moment. Many users described Aaradhya’s appearance as “confident,” “royal,” and “a future fashion icon in the making.”

All about her look

The blush pink attire designed by Sophie Couture featured a strapless corseted bodice with Fortuny pleating and intricate Swarovski-crystal floral embellishments in rose gold, copper and deep mauve tones. The floral detailing cascaded from the bodice down towards the hips, adding texture and dimension to the otherwise fluid silhouette.

The appearance marked a more a shift towards more sculpted festival silhouette in her 24th year at the French Riveira.

The heavily draped satin-silk crepe ensemble was structured with asymmetric hugging around the waist and hips, creating a sculpted fit before flowing into a sweeping floor-length skirt. The sheer chiffon cape added movement and drama to the look without overwhelming it.

She skipped the heavy weights on her neck and opted for statement rings and delicate drop earrings that peaked out from her Hollywood styled wavy hairs.

In her first look too, she embraced body hugging sapphire blue custom-made gown by Amit Agarwal. The structured mermaid silhouette involved over 1500 hours of handwork. “Named Luminara- the ensemble explores the idea of light as strength, movement, and transformation while honoring the extraordinary radiance she has carried through decades on the global stage, said Amit Agarwal.”
