Polls show Narendra Modi to be returning for a third term as India’s Prime Minister, with BJP currently leading in 243 constituencies and NDA in 290. In the new update, the INDIA bloc of Opposition parties is leading in 236 seats, which is significant from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and so on. Currently, in Odisha, the Bharatiya Janata Party is in a commanding position in 19 out of the 21 Lok Sabha seats. Dharmendra Pradhan of BJP of the Sambalpur seat is leading. Similarly, Sambit Patra of BJP for the Puri LS seat is leading against BJD candidate Arup Patnaik. While the BJD is leading the trend in one constituency, the Congress too has chosen its candidate for the other.
NC candidate Omar Abdullah gracefully accepted defeat in Baramulla Lok Sabha segment and Engineer Rashid for his win in North Kashmir. On X, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, accepted the people’s verdict and shared his opinions about that.
Based on the data of the Election Commission at 2 p.m., the feature of the BJP was 239, while the Congress party was 99. Out of the many distinguishing features, the biggest upset was Supriya Sule, the NCP(SP) candidate & Sharad Pawar’s daughter, defeating her sister-in-law Sunetra, wife of Ajit Pawar by over 12,000 margins in Baramati constituency.
The election results depict the effective workings of the democratic system in progressively different parties’ regions. The above event suggests that the politics in India is not static; the political players and groups are emerging of marking themselves on the electoral map.
