The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially released the CBSE Board Result Class 10 Second Board 2026, the first time the two-board examination pattern was implemented as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The second session of a board exam runs from May 15th to May 21st, 2026, providing another chance to boost the marks scored during the main exams from February 17th to March 11th.
As per the CBSE report, 6,64,027 students registered for the second examination, and 6,63,777 of them appeared.
In all, 5,13,955 students appeared for the exam for enhancing their grades. Among them, 3,08,095 students, accounting for 59.95%, successfully increased their scores compared to the main examination.
The second board exam did not affect the performance of the students who were categorized as compartment. A total of 1,49,822 students appeared for the examination, out of which 78,503 students passed resulting in a pass rate of 52.40%, which is an improvement over 48.68% recorded last year.
Post consolidation of result data both Board exam results and Second Board exam pass percentage, the overall Board exam pass percentage for CBSE Class 10, 2026 is 96.78%. which reflects the positive impact of giving students opportunity for a second chance.
The DigiLocker Results Portal will be utilised by students to view their online marksheet and certificate.
Printed marksheets and certificates will be sent to regulars in their respective Schools and to Private candidates at their registered address. The students studying in CBSE affiliated school abroad can get their result in digital form by using the DigiLocker also.
