The CBSE is under the scanner once again after students reported persistent technical glitches on its online application portal whilst trying to access scanned copies of Class 12 answer books. According to complaints that surfaced many were unable to log in, complete payments or download documents despite repeated attempts since the portal went live on May 19.
Several students and parents took to their social media handles to highlight the repeated error messages such as ‘ failed to connect’, ‘site can’t be reached’ and ‘will be available soon’ or ‘site under repair’. Many, sharing the screenshots, even raised concerns about the efficiency of the system.
One user remarked, “Abey kitna jhoot bologe? For a day and a half your site was not operational… payment has been deducted but your site is showing payment failed status. It’s total chaos.”
Another post read, “Do you know the meaning of ‘functioning smoothly’? Website not functional. Payment gateway not working… Serious doubts.”
A user also added, “Money deducted, but still showing payment not processed. I feel pity.”
This is the second time during the day when social media was flooded with complaints regarding technical errors on the official website. Despite CBSE’s attempts to continuously defend its newly introduced OSM system, several students raised concerns about the quality of the images they accessed while downloading their scanned copies. Sharing the screenshots online, they alleged that the PDF they downloaded was blurry, poorly scanned and difficult to read. They claimed the low-quality scanned copies may have impacted their marks, explaining why they scored low marks this year.
Apart from scanning quality concerns, students also alleged discrepancies in the evaluation itself, claiming marks had been deducted despite the answers matching the CBSE’s key.
The latest complaints came as CBSE responded to the backlash on the newly introduced OSM evaluation system used in the Class 12 board examination this year.
