At 7 AM on February 5, the electoral process for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 started from here, with the voting being held at 13,766 polling stations in the national capital. 699 candidates are vying for 70 assembly seats, and the fate of 699 candidates will be decided, with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress engaged in a fierce triangular fight. Voting will carry on till 6 PM, and eligible voters can vote all through the day.
Addressing the youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to come out in thousands to vote and thus become part of the ‘festival of democracy’ in a democracy. Delhi’s 83,76,584 male voters, 72,36,709 female voters and 1,267 from the third gender from a total electorate of 1,56,09,486.
At 11 AM, voter turnout in Delhi was 19.95 per cent, with North East Delhi registering the maximum at 24.87 per cent. Meanwhile, voter turnout in Central Delhi was recorded as the poorest at 16.46% in the same period.
Extensive security arrangements have been made by Election Commission to ensure the smooth and fair election process in all the polling stations. Voting has been countermanded and arrangements have been made for the differently abled and senior citizens.
Polling activity should increase as the day goes by, with the expectation of a higher turnout in the afternoon and evening hours. Delhi Assembly Election Result 2025 will show the future face of such a big city, the who will rule the capital of the national capital for the next five years will be the leader in governance and decisions.
