Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Congress suffered a major setback before the Delhi Assembly elections. Influenced by the policies of Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, many officials and workers left the Congress and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Delhi CM and AAP’s senior leader Atishi made all the leaders wear a turban and cap and got them membership of the Aam Aadmi Party.
He said that many Congress officials from Kalkaji, like former Youth Congress vice-president Jaspreet Singh Atwal, former general secretary Nadeem Khan, Gurpreet Singh Atwal and Gurpal Singh, have joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said in a press conference on Tuesday, “I am happy to tell you that seeing the work of the Delhi government and the facilities provided by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi for electricity, water, schools, hospitals and free bus travel for women, many leaders associated with Congress from different parts of Delhi are leaving Congress and joining Aam Aadmi Party today.”
With the announcement of the date of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, the police and the Election Commission have come into action so that there is no disturbance in the elections. For this, every inch is being monitored. The Election Commission has expressed the apprehension of money coming from Punjab during the Delhi Assembly elections. It has written a letter to the Delhi Police and directed them to take strict action on this.
A senior Delhi Police official said that the letter was sent to top officials last week, as well as DCPs of all districts, crime, special cell, railways and metro. In the letter, the commission had expressed apprehension about money being sent from Punjab, which would be used to woo voters.
