In a sensational case of double murder an SBI employee killed his wife and died by suicide in Lucknow on Thursday. As per reports, the accused allegedl that his wife was cheating on him.
Manas Vajpayee, an SBI Bank employee on Thursday, shot his wife Divya Mishra outside ICICI branch, near Gomati Nagar, where she worked. According to eyewitnesses, the 38-year-old man called his wife outside the bank and spoke to her for a few minutes before shooting her and escaping the scene. Divya was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.
Police also stated that Manas’ 28-year-old sister, Shiva Vajpayee, who was dealing with mental health issues.Adding to the drama, Manas, before killing himself, had put a WhatsApp status announcing that he had killed his sister and wife.”Today I killed my wife who cheated on me. Now I have to kill myself and my sister… her sister Pragya and Bharat know everything,” read the WhatsApp status.
Another eyewitness near Manas’s house told the media that when Manas returned home at around 12:30 p.m., he was in a hurry and was sweating profusely. He went inside the house and played Hanuman Chalisa. Later when the neighbour saw his WhatsApp status, he went inside the house and found Manas dead inside his house.
Soon after the shooting, Divya’s sister Pragya Mishra posted on social media regarding the murder. “I just got a call that my sister has been shot. She has been taken to Lohia hospital. Please pray,” she posted tagging UP Police.
