New Delhi: What was intended to be a normal morning tea session between two ladies belonging to Northeast India resulted in a horrific experience in which the two ladies were attacked physically along with being taunted with racial slurs by some men in the Nehru Place locality of South Delhi.
The incident took place at around 6:30 AM on May 10 outside a tea stall near a hotel/club. It was alleged that the two ladies were taking their tea when suddenly two men started harassing them in a way that involved catcalling the women. Upon objecting, a very nasty situation arose whereby these two men were soon joined by several others, leading to an altercation between the two groups of men and the two ladies.
It was claimed that these two men assaulted these two ladies physically by hitting them with bamboo sticks. Not only did this happen, but there were also claims that these ladies had their clothes ripped off. Furthermore, they claim that one of the complainants was sexually assaulted while the other was threatened severely with the promise of more violence should they report this case to the authorities.
