A 42 year old man was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl during Onam celebrations in Kerala’s Kozhikode district, the police said on Friday.
The accused identified as Muhammad Rafi allegedly misbehaved with an eighth-grade student multiple times while she was watching the tug-of-war competition at an Onam event held in Payyoli on August 25th.
Following a complaint by the girl’s family, the police registered a case against under the POCSO Act. Preliminary investigation revealed Rafi touchrd the inappropriately multiple times following which he was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
