Bengaluru: The Bengaluru triple murder case has come to a shock in its latest development, with the police revealing that the accused meticulously planned the killings by interacting with an AI-chatbot for six months. Investigators have written a letter to AI seeking chat logs of the accused as part of the ongoing investigation in the case.
The case is about the murder of his wife Muthulaxmi (48) and daughter Supriya (19) who were stabbed four times the body of the 52-year-old Somasundar was discovered the following day (June 22) with fourteen stab wounds.
The couple’s elder daughter, Shwetha, and her live-in partner, Kenneth, were arrested separately in Puducherry days after the murders, allegedly for evading arrest in Bengaluru.
The motivation, the police think, was all about money. Shwetha was allegedly taking a loan of Rs 50 lakh from her mother to support Kenneth to launch a cloud kitchen venture. Investigators believe that the couple decided on the murders after failing to pay the money.
Police claims the accused used an AI chatbot in the entire planning process. They reportedly asked for ways to kill and dispose of the dead bodies and how to wash the blood spots off and even whether they could use a furnace that was being constructed for the planned ‘cloud restaurant’ to burn the bodies.
The investigators also discovered that Kenneth had been socially isolated and financially dependent upon Shwetha. Police said that Shwetha later lost her role at IT firm as she became a victim of Kenneth’s influence.
The case is continuing, while authorities conduct a digital autopsy of the evidence and wait for access to chatrooms of the chatbot.
