A woman from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra was arrested for allegedly killing her husband at their home, hiding his body under the bathroom floor and covering it up for several weeks.

Police said Ruby Sharma compared to serve her husband Surendra Sharma a bowl of kheer laden with sleeping pills before killing him. Investigators say she hid the body under the bathroom floor, topped with concrete and then new tiles installed to cover it up.

This case was brought to a light on May 26 when Surendra went missing. In their investigation, police discovered discrepancies in the confessions made by family members and saw that there had been suspicious transactions in the bank, leading to a thorough investigation.

Officers went to the couple’s residence as a result of the investigation and unearthed the floor of the bathroom and found the skeletal remains thought to be Surendra’s. Post-mortem examination has been asked for on the remains, to ascertain the exact cause of death.

During interrogation, Ruby Sharma admitted to the crime, police said. Investigators claimed that was because Surendra was jobless, not only did he have alcoholism problems but he also consistently asked for money and thus there were repeated quarrels with his family.

Authorities believe the murder took place on May 18. Additional investigation of the case is continuing.
