Joint Operation Thwarts Terror Plot: The Jammu & Kashmir Police, working closely with the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Faridabad Police, successfully foiled a major terror attack after recovering approximately 350 kilograms of explosives, an AK-47 rifle, and a large ammunition cache from a rented house in Faridabad’s Dhauj village rented by Dr. Adil.
Dr. Adil has been arrested and is being interrogated. A case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Sources said the recovery of such a weapon from the doctor could be considered an involvement in terrorist-related activities.
Dr. Adil Ahmed was arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on November 7th in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Based on Dr. Adil’s information, another doctor, Mujahil Shakeel, was arrested from Pulwama, Kashmir, on November 7th. He also admitted to possessing explosives in Faridabad. Following this, the police took action and seized a cache of explosives.
According to reports, Dr. Adil Ahmed rented a room in Dhauj village, Faridabad, three months ago. The accused doctor did not live there. He had rented the room only to store his belongings. Police recovered 14 bags from the room, containing 350 kg of explosives, an AK-56 rifle, 5 liters of chemicals, 84 cartridges, and two automatic pistols. According to Faridabad police sources, 48 items were recovered, including bomb-making materials. During the raid, 10 to 12 vehicles arrived at the scene. Connections to four states: Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat are being investigated.
Notably, Adil Rather is the same doctor whose name was recently implicated in another sensational case. An AK-47 rifle was recovered from his personal locker at Anantnag Medical College (GMC) in Jammu and Kashmir. Police conducted this operation with the assistance of the Joint Interrogation Center (JIC) in Anantnag. At the time, Adil Rather was working as a senior resident doctor at the college, but he resigned from his post on October 24, 2024.
Investigating agencies believe that Adeel and his associate doctor were trying to revive the network of the terrorist organisation Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, which was formed in 2017 by former Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa and aims to establish an Islamic state under Sharia law in Kashmir and wage jihad against India.
