Raipur. The matches of the seventh round of the Chhattisgarh Football Champions League, being held at Swami Vivekanand Stadium, Kota (Raipur), were full of excitement and skill. Five matches were played on Wednesday night in this prestigious tournament being held under the aegis of Veer Sports Club, in which the spectators got to see a spectacular game. Club President Advocate Praveen Jain said that all the matches were very exciting and the players filled the field with enthusiasm with their game.
In the first match of the day, Mats Panthers displayed excellent coordination and aggressive play to defeat Borneo FC 4–1. Amol dominated the opening minutes of the match, scoring two consecutive goals in the 5th and 12th minutes. Abhinav then added two in the 36th and Tandi in the 45th to seal the victory.
Borneo FC’s lone goal came from Anjanaya in the 28th minute.
2nd Match: JSF Club and Naresh FC play out a thrilling draw
The second match, played between JSF Club and Naresh FC, was a thrilling and balanced affair. Naresh FC took the lead in the opening minutes – goals from Yogesh in the 5th minute and Ajay in the 8th minute gave them a 2–0 lead. However, JSF Club staged a remarkable comeback, scoring consecutive goals from Morris Das in the 18th and Nomish in the 20th minute to level the scores at 2–2. After a fierce battle between the two teams, the match was declared a draw.
Third match: Infinity FC and Phil Fighters draw 1–1
The third match saw a close contest between Infinity FC and Phil Fighters. M. Sandeep gave Infinity the lead in the 14th minute, but Aman Tigga equalized in the 27th minute to keep Phil Fighters in the match. Both teams fought hard until the end, but neither could gain the upper hand, ending the match 1–1.
Match 4: Brahmavid FC put up a one-sided performance
In the fourth match of the day, Brahmavid FC put on a strong performance, defeating Sarafat Lions 3–0. Goals were scored by Bhole (12′), Arun (20′), and Sohaib Rabbani (40′). Brahmavid FC displayed excellent control and coordination throughout the match, denying the opposition any scoring opportunities.
Match 5: Gaurav’s goal gives Villa FC victory
In the final match of the day, Villa FC defeated SS Blasters 1–0 to claim a valuable three points.
Gaurav (20′) scored the decisive goal of the match, which held the key to victory until the end.
