Today, the former Indian cricket team captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth is in the holy city of Ujjain, where he went to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, which is one of the most sacred Jyotirlingas in India. In his visit, Srikkanth attended the early morning Bhasma Aarti, which is a sacred and traditional ceremony that is done daily at the temple. The ceremony is performed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Mahakal temple and is regarded as one of the most considerable religious experiences for the followers.

After the aarti, Srikkanth prayed and paid some special puja to Lord Mahakal, which was done by priest Akash Guru following Vedic traditions. The former cricketer was blessed after the rituals, and he said he had intense reverence towards the spiritual power and the deity aura of the temple.

Ashish Dubey, the in-charge of the Bhasma Aarti on behalf of the Mahakal Temple Management Committee, gave Srikkanth a shawl and a memento in his honor. In his turn, Srikkanth thanked the temple administration, as it keeps everything in order and provides devotees with an unproblematic and hassle-free darshan.

Addressing the leaders and patrons at the temple, Srikkanth told them that he had always wanted to come and see Mahakal and that he was experiencing so much peace and devotion attending the Bhasma Aarti. His prayer was for the prosperity, happiness, and well-being of all the Indians, and the blessing of Lord Mahakal for the progress and unity of the nation.

Srikkanth had not left yet without having some quiet moments sitting in the Nandi Hall and meditating before the divine idol of Lord Nandi. The calm atmosphere of the temple and the religious recitations impressed him a lot, and he made a memorable visit to the spiritual temple.
