Raipur: To observe the International Yoga Day, special programs were conducted in Chhattisgarh in which the best possible state dignitaries, citizens, and representatives took part. The motive on the hike this year was One Earth, One Health, which meant it was all about being together and healthy under the influence of yoga.
Indira Gandhi Agricultural University- Ramesh Bais, the Governor of the state, presided over the state-level programme at the Agricultural Mandapam located in Raipur. Many citizens (students, officials, employees, differently-abled, and transgender community members) joined the group yoga activity. They were there showing the welcoming side of the occasion.
Some of the dignitaries, who also attended the event, were, MLAs, Sunil Soni, Purandar Mishra, and Anuj Sharma, University Vice Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel, Chief Secretary, Amitabh Jain, Divisional Commissioner, Mahadev Kavre, Collector, Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, SSP, Lal Umed Singh, and Raipur Municipal Commissioner, Vishwadeep. All the leaders were yogis and insisted that the citizens incorporate yoga into their lives to have improved physical and mental health.
In yet another memorable occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma attended the Yoga Day event in Kawardha PG College auditorium on a scooter as an example of simplicity. He participated in the yoga session with Collector Gopal Verma, SP Dharmendra Singh Chavai and a huge crowd of citizens, along with students and officials.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, at the district-level celebration, which took place in Mungeli, was participated in by MLA Punnulal Mohle and other local officers and children. Addressing the occasion, Sao said the youth should embrace yoga in their everyday life as it enhances the body and mind, besides the self-confidence factor.
The state-wide event depicted the determination of the state of Chhattisgarh to contribute to and make people healthy and well with the old Indian therapy of yoga.
