The escalating conflict between Iran and Israel entered its fifth day with both nations exchanging fire. On Tuesday, Israel’s army reported detecting new missile launches from Iran. Both sides have issued warnings of “largest attacks” to come within the past 24 hours. The ongoing missile and drone exchanges have significantly increased the death toll, with at least 224 killed and over 1,200 wounded in Iran, and 24 killed and 592 wounded in Israel due to Iran’s retaliatory actions.

“They (the Israelis) underestimated the Iranian ability to regroup after the Israelis very successfully targeted the top leadership of the Iranian military and managed to kill several of them,” Trita Parsi, vice president of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, told media.
