Lucknow. A bird flu alert has been issued in the zoo and 90 poultry farms of the capital, Lucknow. This has created panic in the surrounding areas. There has been a huge drop in the sale of chickens. The problems of the farm owners have increased.

Veterinary doctors are inspecting poultry farms. There are a total of 90 poultry farms in the district. Samples have been taken from 75 of them. Operators are also being told about preventive measures. Due to which people are now eating more mutton instead of chicken and eggs.

Chicken sales decreased by 40 percent

The farm owner said that chicken sales have fallen by 40%. Customers are not buying eggs. Due to which we are suffering huge losses. Due to the flu, Lucknow Zoo has also been closed till May 27. Flu is an infectious viral disease, which is found exclusively in birds.

After the death of lions and other animals in the zoo in Kanpur, UP, a bird flu alert has been issued in Moradabad. In such a situation, the Animal Husbandry Department has also increased vigilance in Doon.

Veterinarians have been instructed to do blood sampling in case of suspicion. However, no case of bird flu has been reported in the district yet. Poultry farms are also being monitored in the district. According to departmental officials, about 40 poultry farms are operating in Doon.
