Allahabad High Court has upheld the order issued by the lower court for the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal. The petition of the Muslim side has been rejected. The court did not find any issue in the order of the lower court. This order of the court has come as a shock to the Masjid Intezamia Committee.

The Muslim side’s plea, seeking a halt on the trial court’s proceedings, was rejected after the court found “no issues with the trial court order” in the ongoing dispute between the Jama Masjid and the Harihar Mandir in the district.

The Sambhal mosque management committee has filed a civil revision petition seeking a stay on the ongoing trial court proceedings in an original suit pending before the district court in Sambhal.

The committee had challenged the maintainability of the case in the HC. The case was heard at 2 pm. After which, the court has kept the order issued intact. This decision was given by the bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal in the Allahabad High Court. With this decision of the High Court, it is now clear that the survey case will proceed in the district court of Sambhal. The bench gave this decision,n rejecting the arguments of the Muslim side.

Advocate Vishnushankar Jain has written on social media that ‘The petition of the mosque side has been rejected in the Sambhal case. The argument was that the court cannot appoint a unilateral survey commissioner. The stay has been lifted.’
